Name: Rick Casey

About: After receiving an MA in Economics in 1981 from the University of Pennsylvania, I worked for several years as economic analyst for consultants and a Denver oil company (Anschutz); then taught economics (micro & macro) for a few years at Front Range Community College and Western State College; but turned to programming in 1992 to make a living and start earning a real income. After surviving two Wall Street-induced recessions which caused me to lose my job both times(!) (2002 and 2008), I started to learn how the world's global economy REALLY works, which motivated me to get involved in political activism (focused on anti-fracking efforts). I returned to teaching in 2009, but only Environmental Economics (where I emphasize Ecological Economics), and only part-time and online, to share his new found wisdom with his students, which he loves to do...but still works in the IT field to earn a living. I also maintain 5 websites (using WordPress) for four environmental non-profits in the northern Colorado area.
