About: Joel Smith has been assessing and advising on climate change vulnerability and adaptation since 1987, when he co-edited USEPA's Report to Congress on climate change impacts on the U.S. He has been an IPCC coordinating and lead author and an author on 3 U.S. National Climate Assessments. He has worked with the U.S., State, and local governments and has advised international organization and NGOs on vulnerability and adaptation. He has published more than 75 books and articles on climate change. Mr. Smith has a B.A. from Williams College and an M.P.P. from the University of Michigan.
