Name: Geoffrey Habron
About: My focus is to ensure equitable community resilience through direct partnerships and adaptive capacity building. I seek to serve as a consultant and technical service provider linking communities with available resources. I strive to support communities most vulnerable to shocks, disturbances and environmental impacts, and those with least access to environmental benefits and assets. I especially aim to support those who have been historically under-resourced. I spent 25 years as a professor at Michigan State University, Warren Wilson College, and Furman University. I participated in the $5M Carolinas Collaborative on Climate Health and Equity led by NC State University and funded by the NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnership program working with African-American communities in Greenville and Bucksport, South Carolina. I serve on the Statewide Resilience Plan Advisory Committee for the South Carolina Office of Resilience and the Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee for ASAP.
