Name: Jason Liechty
About: I manage state and federal environmental policy and legislative issues for Broward County's environmental divisions and contribute to many of the County’s climate change initiatives. I also staff the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact and also serve as the Compact’s de facto policy and legislative coordinator. My work history includes stints as an urban planner, aide to a county commissioner in Chicago (Mike Quigley, now a Congressman), executive director of a neighborhood nonprofit, and office manager of a craft distillery. I attended American University in DC (BA in International Studies and German), the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität in Bonn, Germany (Fulbright Fellowship), and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Master of Urban Planning). Currently, I chair the City of Fort Lauderdale Sustainability Advisory Board, and I'm also an alumnus and former co-director of the Broward County chapter of New Leaders Council, a nonprofit leadership training organization.
