About: I work on smart growth issues, particularly on how community design and development can help communities better prepare for climate change while also bringing short- and long-term environmental, economic, health, and social benefits. I'm also interested in climate migration, particularly how receiving communities can plan for growth, and in incorporating community design considerations into resilient energy projects. I serve on the Location and Planning Technical Advisory Group for the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED system. I will be an author for the Transportation chapter of the 6th National Climate Assessment.
