About: I chair the US Chapter of ARISE, established by UNDRR to build public-private collaboration in disaster resilience. I was the lead author of the UN City Disaster Resilience Scorecard, now used by some 350 cities, and several other instruments used by the UNDRR. I was formerly the CTO of IBM's environmental business incubator, and played a large role in the development of IBM's smart cities, water and resilience businesses, having the honor of being made an IBM Distinguished Engineer. By background I am a strategy consultant and my PhD is in Politics.
