Growing up in Florida, and the myriad of weather related risks that accompany it, instilled in me a passion for helping communities prepare for, and recover from, natural disasters. Since graduating with a Masters of Public Administration from Columbia University, I have worked with the United States Environmental Protection Agency at the Programmatic level and within the Administrator's Office. Over the past four years with the USEPA, I have developed resources and trainings, as well as hosted workshops that help communities prepare for extreme weather and adapt to climate change. During this tenure, I have designed websites and trainings on climate adaptation, developed illustrative case studies of adaptation from across the country, hosted workshops on disaster preparedness, and identified actionable adaptation strategies and design standards to adapt to climate change. With my fellowship coming to a completion, I am searching for an opportunity to continue helping communities adapt to climate change.
