New England Climate Adaptation Network
This regional group of the American Society of Adaptation Professionals supports and connects climate professionals throughout the New England region, as well as service and information providers from outside of the region that serve the New England based communities.
Invaluable climate programs
The New England Climate Network works to ensure long-term sustainability of the funding, information, and technical resources of value to the region. The network works iteratively with practitioners and funders to create mechanisms that engage alternative financing for vulnerable programs, products, and institutions. This includes resources housed in national programs, such as the Climate Resilience Toolkit, National Climate Assessment, and RAINE, as well as resources housed in local programs like Climate Ready Boston and the City of Cambridge Climate Change Preparedness and Resilience Program. The Network recently hosted a forum on Adaptation Funding, Finance, and Investment, and is currently developing synthesis and next steps from that event.
Recognize leadership in the climate adaptation community
The purpose of this work is to celebrate and encourage courageous action by individuals to increase adaptation, preparedness, and resilience in their community through proactively changing the status quo. The network will host the inaugural New England Regional Adaptation Leadership Award. The award will be presented at the 2018 Local Solutions: Eastern Climate Preparedness Conference. Nominations are open until December 14 – Nominate an inspiring New England adaptation leader today!
Diversify relationships across the region’s climate community
The purpose of this work is to foster relationships among climate practitioners that span sectors, scales, and geographies. This ASAP Regional Network has hosted informal networking opportunities in conjunction with climate events around the New England region, including the ABX/GreenBuild conference and the inaugural Mass ECAN Conference.
